Awesome school and lots of fun

Sports Day (s)

At 10am, the youngest members of FSM assembled for their sports day centered on the theme of 'football'. (Can we guess why?) The children threw and kicked and even changed into team uniforms in a series of exciting relays! See some pictures of their activites!

At 11, the cars laden with picnics and bubbly arrived for the 'upper school' event.

Pittswood, Hasley, Sloden and Broomy... the excitement was palpable. Anyone sitting in the slightly raised vantage point of the battered Romany caravan command centre had a view of a school galvanised and at play with sport. The weather was perfect! ...a bit like Goldilocks; not too hot, not too cold. There was sun, music and Pimms,  activity, gunfire and cheering as panting children competed and excelled.

"Its another school record!" boomed the tannoy across the playing fields of the old Tudor manse.

There were lost children, picnics and Friends Re-United! Who could not admire the manly figure of Mr. Way, immaculate in his linen suit, flag at the ready or indeed, Mr Fairfield in his Sports day stripe.

The walkie talkies crackled:

"Please send Johnnie to the mini-javelin immediately!"

"Sir, sir, what are the house scores?" came the anxious query as tap tap tap, the names and times were entered on the two computers.

"Pittswood is still in the lead" was the reply.

The lunch baskets opened, the corks flew and the band struck up. The atmosphere was joyous. Some families took the opportunty to celebrate multigenerational birthdays with a table festooned with balloons and a buffet with a Michelin star!

" Girls 400 metres. In third place....." boomed the tannoy.

and then the possible final tally! 450 javelins thrown (no one skewered), 3, 678 strawberries consumed, 6 tears, 220 whoops of joy, 63,987 pants for air, 95 cricket balls flung without injuries! 623 miles run...... Pittswood take the day!

Well done all the teams! See some pictures here or remember to order yours from sporting focus.
